Black leather case 10 1/8" (h) x 8 1/8" (w) x 1 1/4" (d) thick grained leather with concealed push knob. Interior left side covered with purple velvet. Gilt brass frame on right with glass over base, and note. Large right hand note "Lafayette Badge" with history. To lower right is additional history. Badge is in upper right hand corner. Badge - plain white silk with oval printed black and white portrait of Marquis de Lafayette
