Description
Woven basket with handle and lid. Brown, green, blue, black, and light grey hand painted designs of fish and flowers on basket sides, the lid has an image of a sitting woman with vase and illegible Chinese characters above her. The handle is green and brown, with a loop at the very top.
Provenance
Donation from Martha M. Babbit, the family lore states that the basket was acquired by Mrs. Fisher the donor's grandmother-in-law during a trip to Asia.
