Description
U.S. Army uniform jacket, World War II era. Olive wool Eisenhower or "Ike" jacket. Notched lapels, placket front with buttons. Two flap breast pockets. Chest pockets on both sides. Long sleeves with buttons cuffs. Epaulets with buttons on shoulders. Metal buckles at side waist. Fabric tag at right center-back with text, "36R." Loop at center-back. Lined with tan cotton. Chest pockets on both sides. On right breast pocket flap, nametag with text "FINAN."
Provenance
Worn by James F. Finan (1922-1998) of Litchfield. Finan served in the 1259th Combat Engineers in the European Theatre of Operations during World War II. He was discharged from the Army in 1946.
