Description
Dress of golden brown silk with vertical stripes of embroidered patterns, two types of floral design. V-line neck, long sleeves puffed at top, cinched with band at even intervals all the way down, and three-button closure at cuffs. Straight skirt bottom with decoration of gold silk ruffles in vertical lines. Band of gold along hemline.

Possibly worn by Abby Howland Wolcott, wife of Frederick Henry Wolcott. Frederick H. was the son of Frederick Wolcott, and attended the Litchfield Female Academy from 1819-1824.
