Description
Wooden cross with gold tips and gold rectangular plate. Ring at top for connecting to chain. Made from the wood of the Charter Oak tree after it fell in Hartford in 1856.

This cross was made for donor's aunt Mary Ward Granniss Webster Billings who was living in Hartford during the time the Charter Oak fell down. She was the daughter of William Ward, the Litchfield jeweler and silversmith
