Description
A: Weather vane - base is house shaped copper flashing box with iron shaft emerging to ball and shaft then cardinal points with diagonal braces, then a shaft and ball. The flag has stylized bird head with double XX box body and tail of arrows, one up and one down. Two horizontal at top and bottom with arrow on V base in center, then shaft, ball, shaft and ball with fleur de lis on top. B: "N" cooper, that had falled off main weather vane
Comment
This weather vane was originally on the 4th Congo Church on the green in Litchfield. It was given to the Nassau County Historical Society by Clarinda Boardman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Boardman of Cold Springs Harbor, NY whom she had acquired it from.
