Wood corner chair with split cane seat; chair painted red; front leg with groove, fring turn and bulb top; side and back legs turned with bulb top; double stretchers on two sides with single stretcher on other two that has a round crest curved with rounded ends; upper crest rounded edge with curved ends; heavily nailed
Comment
According to donor, George Washington sat in this chair duirng a trip through Litchfield. Located in the Bradleyville Tavern in Bradleyvill, CT which is now part of Bantam. The chair belonged to Mrs. Bundage. In 1951 the tavern building belonged to the Ravenscroft family.
