Description
White silk lace wedding veil, drawn lace work flowers along edges, scalloped on three sides, draw string along top.
Comment
Made and worn by Mary Wallace Peck (1800-1837) when she married Edward Deering Mansfield of New Haven, CT on April 25, 1827. She attended the Litchfield Female Academy in 1811-16, and was a drawing teacher at the LFA in 1825. Edward D. Mansfield was a student at the Litchfield Law School in 1823, and was later an editor and law professor at University of Cincinnati.
