G.A.R. red, white and blue vertically striped ribbon with large metal pin at top. Ribbon gathered at bottom by small metal ring. Attached to ring is round, bronze colored medal. Raised edge around circumference of medal. Front has image of a marker. Words printed inside marker "Camp Dutton/The 19th Conn. Infantry/Afterward/2nd Conn. Heavy Artillary/Mustered into U.S. Services/on This Field/Sept. 11, 1862/Erected 1912/By the Survivors" Printed around outside of medal "Welcome Veterans/Sept. 11, 1912"
