Description
Tiger tail maple long gun. Iron barrel with sight at end, a small knob, square tang, scrolled trigger, and percussion cap. Brass trigger guard has engraved decoration. "D.S." carved into one side of the stock. Decorative serpentine open work side plate. Original flint lock had been converted to percussion, later restored. Original ramrod missing.

Possibly made by Benoni Hills, father of Medad Hills, and likely the oldest of the collection's three fowling pieces that have been attributed to the Hills family.
