Fan. Wooden sticks, painted gold with simple carved design. Fan has heavy watered silk body. Lace trim attached to top. White silk tassel attached to bottom of fan.

Carried by Lucretia Deming Perkins (later Mrs. John W. Quincy) at the Court of France when she was presented to the Emperor Napoleon and Empress Eugenie at the Tuileries, on January 25, 1860
