Description
Red, white and blue vertically striped grosgrain ribbon with bronze pin on back. Ribbon gathered at bottom with metal link. Medal in the shape of a Maltese Cross with blue and white enamel wings hangs below link. Gold rays and American eagle on red enamel in center of medal with the words, "LEX REQUIT/ ARMA/ TUEMTUR." Link is marked "6751". The revers of the medal shows crossed swords and olive branches and reads, "M.O. Loyal Legion U.S./MCDDDLXV".

The Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States, also known by its acronym MOLLUS or simply as the Loyal Legion, is a United States patriotic order, organized April 15, 1865, by officers of the Army, Navy, or Marine Corps of the United States who had aided in maintaining the honor, integrity, and supremacy of the national movement during the American Civil War.
