Description
Off-white embroidered net and lace dress. Flapper style with straight silhouette. Boat neckline with lowered square neck at back. Six panels at front, back and sides. Short straight sleeves. Ribbon at dropped waist with snap closures. Right-side opening with snap closures. Pearl fringe hanging from ribbon bands at center back.
Provenance
Belonged to Vivian G. (Brown) Smith (1903-1996), who married Winthrop Hiram Smith (1893-1961) in 1947. In 1948, the couple purchased a farm property in Litchfield, naming it Winvian after their combined names. Their son and daughter-in-law expanded the farm into a boutique hotel.

Could have been worn as a wedding dress; possibly from the wedding of Vivian G. Brown to her first husband, Gerald D. Linke.
