Description
Small white ceramic creamer with single-bend handle and color, transfer-printed image of West Street businesses. Image shows Litchfield Country Courthouse, W. G. Granniss store, and George A. Smith's store, among others without distinguishable identification. Gold decoration bordering image and spout. Printed underneath image is "Main Street, Litchfield, Conn." in black lettering. Bottom of creamer is marked "MADE IN GERMANY FOR/W. G. GRANNISS/LITCHFIELD, CONN." in black printed lettering, and the numbers "34" and "472/000" in incised lettering.

White's History of Litchfield, p. 315 (Granniss) and 316 (George A. Smith). W. G. Granniss was a successor to Granniss & Elmore. George A. Smith is listed as a Furniture Dealer and Funeral Director, and successor to A. E. Fuller.
