Description
Corset made of heavy cotton cloth with steel boning in front. Back vertical seam secured with headed pin and keyhole fasteners. Front has vertical seam that is supposed to be laced. Various lacing materials remain in holes including pieces of shoelace capped with metal tips, strips of off white cotton cloth and strips of navy blue cotton cloth with a white batique looking daisy and vine print. "Pat'd J___, 189_" printed in blue ink on inisde of left side.
Comment
There were found by the donors in a crawl space above a third floor room in their home (the Ozias Seymour House) It is speculated they belonged to servants who lived in this part of the home during the 19th century.
