Description
Oil on composition board of a landscape scene. Rolling land with hills in background. Much of the land cleared for farming but some forested area visible. Farms on left hand side of painting. Red barns and outbuilding. Blue sky with wispy white clouds.
Comment
The white house is "Hardscrabble Farm" on Wigwam Road, Northfield, the home of Mrs. Hunter. Most of the barns on the left are now (1972) gone. The view is looking south from the back of Guernsey Hill. The red barns on the right are on farm (then Joe Busk's) before Mrs. Hunter's house.
