a wide band of brown hair, braided and woven, is set into enraved gold end pieces which are hinged onto a central square one side fits into center and is a clasp. Has short gold safety chain. Engraved on back of clasp "In Memory of/George Colgate Taggard/Died Octr 12th 1850"
