Ring base, cylindrical body with round hole, and ear-shaped handle. Gold bands on base and rim, gold line on outside of handle, two colored floral sprays painted on either side of the handle. "H.C. Gates, M.D." written in gold on front of mug with rococo designs in gold above and below the writing. Gold is transfer-printed. This is an occupational shaving mug.
