Description
Desk blotter with embossed leather decoration, depicting six angels or cherubs playing musical instruments. Cherub motif surrounded by border of gold floral decoration and border of gold circles. Similar gold decoration along sides of blotter. Four-pointed gold decoration on handle. Layers of thick paper along bottom. "Made in Italy" stamp in leather on bottom. Design and materials similar to 2015-71-3, 4, and 8, suggesting a set. Although not marked, blotter was likely sold by B. Altman & Co., New York.
