Description
Watercolor landscape painting by Rosemary "Posy" Tyson Beer. Painting shows rolling hills or mountains at the horizon, with a mix of forest, fields, and lakes or rivers in the foreground. Original pencil sketch visible through the watercolor. Signed "Posy Beer" in lower-right corner, in pencil. Framed with white mat in brushed silver metal frame.

Posy Beer moved to Litchfield sometime around 1970. As a child she lived in New York City and Cornwall, CT, living full-time in Cornwall after the start of WWII. Posy later married John Beer and lived in London prior to coming to Litchfield. John served on the Historical Society board; Posy was a member of the Litchfield Garden Club. While in Litchfield, she studied art at both the Washington and Kent Art Associations, working mainly in watercolors. The Beers lived in the Thomas Catlin House before moving to Farmington, CT. Posy married John Beer and lived in London prior to coming to Litchfield. John worked in the investment business in Litchfield and served on the Historical Society board; Posy was a member of the Litchfield Garden Club. While in Litchfield, she studied art at both the Washington and Kent Art Associations, working mainly in watercolors. The Beers lived in the Thomas Catlin House before moving to Farmington, CT.
