Description
World War I era poster. Two-color ink on rectangular paper, showing a blue uppercase "V" with a white border set against a red background. Underneath the "V" is the word "INVEST" in white. Blue border around red with thin, white inner border. White areas are formed by negative space (where ink was not applied); paper has since discolored. Underneath the red center at lower-right is "THE STROBRIDGE LITHO. CO. CINCINNATI" in blue text, with "S.C." in blue at the lower-left.
Provenance
Produced to promote the Fifth Liberty Loan, called the Victory Liberty Loan, which was issued in 1919 to consolidate short-term war debt.
