Description
Three-piece G.A.R. souvenir medal, perhaps from a national encampment in Cincinnati, Ohio. Gold metal bar pin at top with "Souvenir" label. Ivory grosgrain ribbon with a shield-shaped medal suspended from interlocking brass rings. On the shield is the American flag with an oval bordered by acanthus leaves, inside an illustration of the G.A.R. membership medal. Stamped in reverse of both pin a medal.
