Description
Small oval portrait miniature in gold frame under glass. Portrait executed in watercolor and shows an older gentleman with long white hair from the bust up. Sitter is wearing a black coat and vest with white shirt and tie.
Provenance
This portrait miniature was owned by the Fisher family who lived in the Sheldon Tavern in Litchfield, CT.
Comment
This portrait miniature is a copy of an original oil portrait of Thomas Collier painted around 1825. The original portrait (1929-0-1) is also in the collection of the Litchfield Historical Society.
