Description
Oval, celluloid photograph plaque depicting the Blakeslee farm on Old Northfield Road, Northfield, Connecticut. Oval black and white photograph showing an empty horse cart under a tree, with a house or farm building visible in the background. Photograph is set within a gold border against a background with a dark wood grain pattern. Plaque is backed in gold-painted tin with adjustable metal stand.
Provenance
Farm belonged to donor's family. Flax from the farm was used to weave a tablecloth in the LHS collection (2014-54-1) used at three generations of family weddings held in Northfield.
