Description
Sketch in charcoal of a landscape. Trees dot the foreground of the composition with a small white house in the distance on the right. Rolling hills beyond. "CAHILL" written in pencil in lower right corner.
Comment
The artist, Helen Cahill, was the daughter of Jane Antoinette Duffie Cahill, who moved to Litchfield with Helen in about 1900. Helen was a librarian at the Wolcott Library and worked at the Litchfield Savings Society. She married Sutherland Beckwith. In 1929 she died suddenly at the Torrington Hospital.
