Description
Early 20th-century clockwork locomotive made by Märklin. Black locomotive with red wheels and detailing. The engine has a whistle, bell, smoke stack, oil lamp, and a steam or sand box, as well as an open conductor's compartment. Four-wheeled locomotive with four-wheeled cow catcher underneath the front, also painted red. The conductor's compartment has three silver levers as well as a pull cord for the bell and a hookup for train cars. Square clockwork gear extends from the left. Stamped with Märklin's "MC" shield logo on the front; marked "Gebrauch Muster" underneath.
Provenance
Used and displayed in Sheldon Tavern. Donor believes they were played with in the attic, and belonged to Robert Lewis Fisher (1898-1977).
