Description
Walking stick with tapered wooden shaft with prominent grain, small metal tip, handle is ivory carved as a clenched fist; black metal collar below handle.
Provenance
(from 1915) First handle was made by a sailor who once lived with Capt. Salmon Buel's family and made a present of it on his return. In Sept. 1867 Buel gave the cane to Arthur D. Catlin.
