Description
Landscape scene done in pastels. Very stylized. Tall trees in foreground with a body of water directly behind them. Mountains in distance with more greenry and trees. Cahill used soft shades of purples and blues for the coloring of the landscape. Signed at bottom "Helen A. Cahill" Framed under glass with dark silver metal frame.
Comment
Helen Cahill was the daughter of Jane Antoinette Duffie Cahill who moved to Litchfield with Helen around 1900. Helen was a librarian at the Wolcott Library and worked at the Litchfield Savings Society. She married Sutherland Beckwith. She died in 1929 from complications in childbirth.
