Description
Silver trowel or cake server with heavy floral decoration on handle and upper part of flat area, used as a trowel. Inscription on face of trowel reads "A gift to the Litchfield Historical Society for Tree Planting. From Mary Perkins Quincy" On the back of the trowel inscribed "Used by Admiral GP Colvocoresses at the planting of an oak to commemorate his return from the victory of Manila Bay, Nov. 10, 1899" "Used by Gov. Holcomb to plant the Lincoln oak, on State day of the bicentennial celebration, of the founding of the Town of Litchfield, 1920"
