Description
4 drawer chest; cherry; on four cabriole feet, 6 3/4" high with curved brakcet; 1/2 round at bottom with four graduated drawers (largest on bottom, smallest on top) with oval brass plate and bail handles. Handles 2 1/2" high x 3 1/2" wide. Brass key hole for each drawer. Curved back edge to all drawers. Through tenons on the back of the chest and two large cleats holding the top of the chest to the backboard - very characteristic of a piece of furniture made in Litchfield County

Chest came out of Beckwith House on South St. Oral tradition says it was made for grandfather of Sutherland Beckwith and has always been in the house.
