West Point cadet shako hat, Brass hat badge at center front. Badge is a shield topped by the American bald eagle and the Academy's motton of "Duty / Honor / Country" and "West Point / MDCCCIII (1802) / USMA," helmet of Pallas Athena (symbol of wisdom and learning) and a sword (traditional emblem of the military). Black patent leather top and brim. Brass chain at front. Brass side buttons attached to patent leather chim strap. Black leather interior with adjustable cord. Black wool pom pom with metal base. Plums of black iridescent feathers with metal base. Black cotton flannel hat bag with hand written "McGURK M" on cotton twill tape.

Worn by the donor when he was at West Point Academy 1981-85.
