Engraved in center of plate "Samuel Sheldon/Elizabeth Baldwin/Litchfield Conn/1750/Troy NY/1840/Given to/Litchfield Historical Society/1911" Marks on back of plate - cresent over flower spray with "FRANCIS" curved over, and "PIGGOTT" under, in cartouche outline; crown and rose with "MADE IN" over "LONDON" below; cartouche outline; small marks: Britannia; lion head erased; label "NEWGATE/STREET/LONDON"
