Description
Off-white moire men's suspenders. Braided straps for buttoning to trousers. Adjustable bar for sizing. Elastic at center-back. "W/H/S" embroidered monogram in black thread on left strap.
Provenance
Belonged to Winthrop Hiram Smith (1893-1961), who married Vivian G. (Brown) Smith (1903-1996) in 1947. In 1948, the couple purchased a farm property in Litchfield, naming it Winvian after their combined names. Their son and daughter-in-law expanded the farm into a boutique hotel.
