Description
Carved ivory bracelet in a leather box. A - Bracelet in 4 parts of exceptionally delicate carving. Front oval with 2 stags and 2 does facing each other in a forest glade, surrounded by band of heavy foliage with grape clusters. Two side lines X shaped with one side closed and rounded to fit back of front piece. Drilled holes for strings and knobs in center back to hold thread. Back piece X shaped with holes and knobs for thread. Rough finished backs on three smaller pieces. Outsides carved to resemble rustic twigs intertwined to form bracelet with cluster of leaves at center of X. B - Brown leather shoe shaped box with punch latch in front. Incised lines on articulated parts of box. Top lined with white satin, bottom lined with black velvet and shaped to hold a pin and a bracelet. Satin ribbon open holders.
