Description
Thin piece of metal painted black and given texture by adding sand to paint. In gold lettering "Doct. Kilbourn's/Office" Metal mounted on a piece of wood that is slightly larger than the metal.
Comment
This sign was nailed to the office door of Dr. Charles J. Kilbourn's medical office in Dutchess County, New York. Illness prevented his practising. He returned to Litchfield where he was born and lived a few years in the house of his wife's family on North St. which was originally Co. Tallmadge's store. Mrs. Kilbourn (nee Harriet Wadsworth) lived in the house until her death in 1916
