G.A.R. Camp-Field soldier's monument ribbon. Pale blue satin ribbon with short fringed ends. Printed is a black box with an image of the monument. Below is printing: "Camp = Field / Soldier's Monument / ..... / Dedicated Oct. 4, 1900."
Comment
The monument depicted on the ribbon is also known as the "Griffin A. Stedman Monument" in honor of the 26-year-old captain of the 5th Regiment Connecticut Volunteers who was fatally wounded at Petersburg, Virginia. The term "camp=field" refers to the location where the Hartford regiments were mustered in.
