Description
Pressed glass medicine bottle, clear glass, with beveled front corners and rounded back corners. Shoulders taper to neck, with threaded top for bottle cap. Raised decoration on neck and shoulders, consisting of vertical lines and two lines in a chevron shape. Printed in white on front, "MARLEY/PHARMACY/QUALITY SERVICE/DEPENDABLE/Wm. MARLEY/REG. PHARM./PHONE 210/COR. WEST &/MEADOW STS./LITCHFIELD, CONN." Embossed lettering below neck, "3iv" and on bottom, "Knoxall/9."

William Marley had formed a partnership with Aaron Crutch sometime around 1918, forming Crutch & Marley Pharmacy. Marley later moved to a pharmacy down West Street at the corner with Meadow Street.
