Label on back "Jane Ellen Radcliffe/Mrs. Walter Joy/1812-1901/greatgrandmother of Joy . . . /Trouant." Second label on back of frame "Newman Galleries/1625 Walnut St. 850 W. Jane Ellen Radcliffe was a student at the Litchfield Female Academy. The shawl she is wearing in the photograph is also part of the Historical Society's collection, see 1976-15-2.
