Description
World War I poster. Boy Scout kneeling on left knee upon a rectangle reading, "WEAPONS FOR LIBERTY." He holds a large sword with a gold hilt. Sword says "Be Prepared" down side of blade. Lady liberty stands behind the Boy Scout. She holds a round, gold shield. "USA BONDS" printed in gold at top. "Third/ Liberty Loan/ Campaign/ BOY SCOUTS/ OF AMERICA." printed in gray on left side. A thin gold border around outer edges of poster.

At the onset of the first world war, the Boy Scouts of America leveraged their membership, and the organization became involved in a number of initiatives to benefit the war effort, including the sale of Liberty Bonds.
