Description
Woman's style wallet. Red leather bifold wallet decorated with gold flower embossment. Interior lined with green silk. Two accordian style pockets with green silk dividers, each with additional pocket and flap on top. Originally contained hair locks from Deming family (list below) These have been removed and relocated to another box. A. Hair marked CWD Dec'r 26th 1839 in paper B. Mary Deming Obl. April 18th 1847 in paper C. Mr. C. Deming's hair cut Dec. 5th 1850 D. My dear brother Charles' hair cut April 13 1852 New York E. CWD's May 1840 F. Brother Charles' hair for brooch (paper sewn) G. J.M. Hoppin Jr May 22 1857 (wrapped in blue paper)
