Description
Chest of drawers. Three false drawers on front. Top hinged to open. Half round quarter molding around lid for decoration. Linen straps (probably not original) hold lid to body of chest. Compartment on each side at top with center open for deeper compartment. Stained red. Hinges are not original but marks of original hinges still visible.

Accession file says chest was made by Abel Catlin 12 years prior to the Revolutionary War. He used this chest to carry and store his medical tools and equipment. He served seven years during the War.
