Description
Aluminum frame settee made by the Warren McArthur Corporation. A - Anodized aluminum frame formed by tubular members joined with aluminum rings. Raised on four legs supported by rubber disc pads. Rounded armrests with floral upholstery on settee arms. Settee frame formed by four sections of continuous aluminum tubing, each starting at the front seat rail, traveling along the base of the seat to the back seat rail, and continuing up the seat back before curving downwards and returning to the front seat rail. Front seat rail continues to form the side seat rails and terminates as the rear legs. Front legs continue up to form settee arms and the rear support rail for the seat back. Back seat rail joins with the side seat rails and the seat and seat back rails. B - Left seat back cushion, floral upholstery. C - Right seat back cushion, floral upholstery. D - Left seat bottom cushion, floral upholstery. E - Right seat bottom cushion, floral upholstery.

Part of a collection owned by twin brothers Dr. John Houlihan (dental surgeon) and Dr. James Houlihan (optometrist). Used in their medical office waiting room in Torrington, CT. Purchased in 1939 by Dr. John Houlihan from the Superintendent of the Warren McArthur Corporation in Bantam, CT.
