Description
Metal sculpture of a dog or horse, created by welding found objects. Rectangular metal base with artist's initials, "AH." Legs formed by two horseshoes welded to base. Spine, tail, and neck formed by a thick metal chain with the links welded together. Head formed from a hammer's head. Sculpture painted black.
Provenance
Asa D. Hall lived in East Litchfield and worked at the American Brass mill in nearby Torrington. Towards the end of his life, Hall began blacksmithing and crafting hand-wrought metal sculptures, including both large outdoor sculptures and smaller pieces.
