Description
Off-white Chantilly lace and silk satin wedding dress. Fitted lace bodice, with fitted under bodice with sweetheart neckline. Round fold-over collar with iridescent sequins. Long lace sleeves with V'd top and four covered buttons with loop closures on bottom. Satin skirt with long train, two train loops. Lace gathered peplum open at center front, longer in the back. Thirty-eight covered buttons with loop closures down center back. Horsehair braid at hems.
Provenance
Worn by Esther Arsego at her wedding to William Doyle Brennan, held at St. Anthony of Padua Church, South Street, Litchfield, in 1950. The reception was at the Litchfield Playhouse.
