Description
Piece of tin cut in shape of liberty cap. Japanned and painted with yellow borders. American spread eagle and seven stars over its head. Eagle has red shield on breast and stars have red stars over yellow ones. "5th/Compy 16th Regt"
Provenance
Note on reverse, "Worn by Leman Stone of Bantam." Stone served in the 5th Company, 16th Regiment of Connecticut militia.
