Description
Glazed earthenware dish used as toy or play teaware. Off-white ceramic with blue transfer-printed decoration of a castle, church, and surrounding landscape. Image continues onto rim, with slightly scalloped edge. Marked on bottom with either a 6 or 9. Traces of blue ink from image in glaze on bottom.
Provenance
Belonged to Margaret Sargent Fisher, wife of Samuel H. Fisher, who grew up in New Haven in the 1870s-1880s. Later displayed in Babbitt home.
