Description
Aluminum banded square table made by the Warren McArthur Corporation as part of a set of children's furniture. Anodized aluminum frame formed by tubular members joined with aluminum rings. Raised on four legs supported by rubber disc pads. The legs are joined by a modified x-stretcher formed by two separate, overlapping diagonal stretchers joined by a single vertical upright. Table has a black Formica top.
Provenance
Part of a collection owned by twin brothers Dr. John Houlihan (dental surgeon) and Dr. James Houlihan (optometrist). Used in their medical office waiting room in Torrington, CT. Purchased in 1939 by Dr. John Houlihan from the Superintendent of the Warren McArthur Corporation in Bantam, CT. The donor believes the set of children's furniture was custom made for Dr. Houlihan.
