Comment
This painting depicts King's Grist Mill. The mill was located in Morris, CT (formerly the South Farms section of Litchfield). The Grist Mill was purchased by Elisha King with one acre of land from James Loveland in 1867. At that time the mill was located at the corner of the old road that went up and over French Mountain to Watertown and the Thomaston Road. Today only the Thomaston road and the remains of the mill foundation remain.
