Rectangular block of wood. Brass plate on one side with thin rectangular glass window in center of plate. At top of brass plate is a semi-circular cut out of wood. Above that part of a compass has been drawn into wood. Brass plate on back side of level set perpendicular to plate set on front side. Brass knob on one end of level. Stamped into brass plate on front - "Stanley Rule & Level Company/New Britain/Conn"
