Description
Baluster form silver creamer on pedestal foot. Stylized repreating leaf pattern around top and bottom of base, on rim, nad on shoulder. Double scross handle. A "D" engraved on one side for Deming. "J.D.P." for Julius Deming Perkins engraved on the opposite side of body. This creamer is part of a five piece tea service given to Julius Deming Perkins by his aunt, Lucreita Deming, for his marriage in 1868. The date of the piece, along with engravings and family tradition indicate that the tea service was likely owned by Julius Deming during his life and was then passed down in the family. Estate inventories in the Litchfield Historical Society archives indicate that Julius owned various pieces of silver, including a possible multi-piece tea service at the time of his death.
